Families with multiple musicians are entitled to a 5% discount of total applicable fees, exclusive of the music deposits which are required for each musician.

Families/musicians requesting financial assistance will complete the confidential “Request for Financial Assistance” form and provide required documents no later than September 24, 2016.  A $100 non refundable deposit (cash, cheque, or credit card payment) must accompany each “Request for Financial Assistance” and for each musician within a family.

Fees paid to HPYO are non refundable.  Late fee payments shall be assessed a 5% administrative fee at the discretion of the Orchestra Manager/Executive Director.

We also require a separate cheque payable to the Hamilton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra in the amount of $50.00 for your music deposit. This cheque will be returned to you at the end of the season provided your music and leather folder are returned promptly in May and are in good condition.

FAQ

Why have the fees increased?

There has been an increase in fees this year, which are a direct result of the organization’s managed growth, operational costs, and enhanced programming as guided by our strategic directions. Each member’s fees represent considerably less than 1/3 of the cost per member for the operation of the organization and its programs and services. 

I have multiple children who are auditioning for the orchestra, am I eligible for a discount?

There will be a discount for multiple nuclear family members of the orchestra. This will amount to 5% being deducted from the total fees. 

What about bursaries and financial aid?

The HPYO is proud to offer support to our members. We will be offering financial aid in the 2016-2017 concert season. The confidential information and package will be available online prior to auditions and must be completed and  submitted with required documentation by September 24, 2016 along with $100 non refundable deposit .

What else do I need to know about the expectations of membership?

The NEW Musicians Handbook will be available online to answer many of your questions.  As well, a meeting for Members (musicians over the age of 18) and Parents/Guardians (of minors) will be held on Registration Day, September 17.  It is important that each musician either attend  or be represented at this meeting.
