Musicians cap of the Hamilton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra’s 49th season with a performance of Tchaikovsky’s victorious Symphony No. 5 in E minor.
Joining us for this season finale concert are the young musicians of the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board’s Itinerant Strings Program. Watch our city’s young string learners become inspired as they are paired with HPYO strings players in a joint side-by-side performance.

In May 2013, the Hamilton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra will tour to New Orleans, Louisiana. The HPYO will to perform concerts for the local community, take part in workshops with local professional musicians, experience the local music culture, and take in the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra’s performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 3.

Saint Saëns & the Symphonic Keyboard

One of Hamilton’s best and most historic organs comes alive as the Hamilton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra perform Saint Saëns Symphony No. 3 (Organ Symphony) with organ soloist Brian Turnbull performing on Centenary’s historic, five manual Casavant organ. The program is rounded out with Bach’s Keyboard Concerto and Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on ”Greensleeves”.
HPYO goes Broadway! In this pops concert, the HPYO will be joined by the Mohawk College Community Singers and local soloists to perform some of the best songs and symphonic works from the stage. The performance will include excerpts from Broadway musicals such as West Side Story, Chicago, Les Miserables, Guys & Dolls, and so much more!
